Release Triggers

Choose how and when your vault should release its contents to your heirs.

Release Triggers

Release Triggers define the precise moment your vault "matures"—meaning its contents are decrypted and made available to your heirs. SovSeal v2.0 focuses on three reliable trigger types to ensure your legacy bridges the gap exactly when intended.

Available Triggers

Automatic release based on your activity. If you miss your scheduled check-ins, the protocol assumes a "Transition Event" and begins the release sequence.

  • Check-in Frequency: Choose between weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or quarterly.
  • Verification Window: If a check-in is missed, you have a grace period (e.g., 7 days) to reset the switch before the release sequence begins.

2. Manual Release

You manually trigger the release from your dashboard. This is useful for planned transitions or when you want to hand over your digital estate while you are still active.

3. Guardian Claim

Your Guardians (2-of-3 or 3-of-5) can initiate the release by confirming your passing. This provides a human layer of verification for the protocol.

The 14-Day Contestation Period

All releases—whether triggered by a Dead Man's Switch or a Guardian Claim—include a 14-day contestation period.

During this time:

  1. You receive multiple high-priority alerts (Email, SMS, Push).
  2. You can cancel the release with a single click if it was triggered by mistake.
  3. No data is released to heirs until the 14 days have elapsed.
