Estate Law Compliance
How SovSeal is designed to work with existing estate law frameworks and traditional planning.
Estate Law Compliance
SovSeal is designed to complement traditional estate planning. Our platform, document templates, and release conditions are architected to work alongside wills, trusts, and powers of attorney — not to replace them.
We recommend consulting with your estate attorney to integrate SovSeal into your overall estate plan. Our tools are designed to make that integration straightforward.
How SovSeal Fits Into Estate Planning
The Digital Asset Gap
Traditional estate planning tools were designed before digital assets became significant:
- Wills can name heirs but can't convey passwords
- Trusts can specify asset distribution but can't manage encrypted data
- Powers of attorney grant authority but can't bypass encryption
SovSeal addresses this gap with tools specifically designed for digital estate concerns.
Integration Points
| Estate Planning Element | SovSeal Integration |
|---|---|
| Will | Reference SovSeal vault in digital asset provisions |
| Trust | Align release conditions with trust terms |
| Power of Attorney | Include vault access authority in document scope |
| Executor/Trustee | Designate as trusted contact with appropriate access |
Legal Document Templates
SovSeal provides attorney-reviewed template documents designed for estate integration.
Digital Asset Directive
A standalone document specifying:
- That you maintain a SovSeal vault
- General categories of assets stored
- Instructions for accessing vault contents
- Your wishes regarding digital asset handling
Purpose: Ensure your estate plan addresses digital assets and points executors to your SovSeal vault.
Vault Access Authorization
A legal authorization document establishing:
- Your designation of specific trusted contacts
- The conditions under which access should be granted
- Authorization for SovSeal to release assets upon verification
- Acknowledgment that release conditions are binding
Purpose: Clear legal basis for trusted contact access that can be presented alongside other estate documents.
Companion Will Clauses
Suggested language for inclusion in your will:
I maintain a digital vault with SovSeal, Inc. containing digital assets
and records. I direct my Personal Representative to work with my
designated Trusted Contacts to access and distribute these digital
assets according to the release conditions I have configured within
said vault. I authorize SovSeal, Inc. to release vault contents to
verified Trusted Contacts according to its standard procedures.Purpose: Integrate SovSeal into your will with language your attorney can adapt.
Cryptocurrency-Specific Provisions
Additional language for digital currency holdings:
- Seed phrase location and access instructions
- Hardware wallet physical location
- Exchange account credentials and recovery
- Instructions for secure transfer
Cryptocurrency provisions should be reviewed carefully with your attorney, as digital currency may have special tax implications and require specific handling.
